Police looking for suspect in attempted armed robbery

PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. – The Sauk Prairie Police Department posted two surveillance photos on Facebook on Tuesday as it looks for assistance in identifying a person in an attempted armed robbery.

The post said a man with a gray beard wearing a black jacket, green stocking cap, red gloves, gray pants and black shoes entered Sauk Prairie Market on Monday night.

Officials said the man approached a cashier, displayed a handgun and told the cashier he was there to “rob” them.

Police said the man did not take any money and walked away from the store in the 600 block of 3rd Street in the Village of Prairie du Sac.

He was last seen walking south on 3rd Street.

The department is asking businesses and homeowners to check their security video.
