Ryan Takes Part In Big Ten Media Day
The University of Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team should be contenders again this season, although not everyone is giving them their due in part because of the players they lost from last year’s team.
Jon Leuer, Keaton Nankivil and Tim Jarmusz were the outgoing seniors. The team will be replacing 90 to 100 minutes lost by the starters who are no longer with the program. One of the key players for the Badgers in the paint will be Mike Bruesewitz, a quality player who doesn’t get the credit he deserves, according to coach Bo Ryan.
“Might be that people don’t know that much because Bruesewitz was not a McDonald’s All-American, despite what he looked like with that red wig — with his red, I mean, not wig, his red hair. He was called Ronald McDonald a few places,” Ryan said at Thursday’s annual media day in Chicago.
Still, the Badgers are picked to finish in second place behind Ohio State and guard Jordan Taylor, who was one of five players named to the Big Ten’s all preseason first team.
