Royal “Bobby” Ritschard
Age 76 of Madison, died on Thursday, Oct 18 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Royal was born July 21, 1936 in Monticello, the son of Herman and Emma (Grossen) Ritschard. He graduated from Monroe High School and entered the U.S. Army in August 1959. He was honorably discharged in August, 1961. Royal married Sun Bun Pak on June 28, 1961 in Seoul, Korea. He farmed until the age of 60. Following his retirement, Royal did maintenance and janitorial work for his daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed watching and keeping up to date on all kinds of sports, especially high school basketball and football. He was a member of a bowling league for 35 years and enjoyed playing euchre and poker with his brothers and family.
He is survived by his wife Sun Bun of Madison, seven children, Tony (Jason) Ritschard, Todd Ritschard of Phoenix, AZ, Tracy (Lawrence) Schmock, Tricia Ritschard (Tracy), Tina (Laird) McLean of Minneapolis, MN, Tim (Dawn) Ritschard, Tara (Troy) Ritschard; 6 grandchildren; three brothers, Delbert of Argyle, Raland of Monticello, Mike (Sandy) of Juda; two sisters, Darlyne (Elton) Segner of Monroe, and Marlys (John) Hegge of Madison; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Ritschard of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Terry ; two brothers, Donald and Hank (Betty); and a sister-in-law, Leona Ritschard.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct 22, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Interment will be in Saucerman Cemetery, Cadiz Township, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for Royal will be held on Sunday, November 11, from 12:30pm-4:30pm at Sundown Saloon on the Eastside of Madison. All family and friends are welcome.
