2 weather systems to bring rounds of snow for the weekend -Dana

MADISON, Wisc. — Two weather systems will bring rounds of snow to southern Wisconsin this weekend.

Light snow and freezing rain will develop Friday evening and move east across the state. Snow will come to an end early Saturday morning; accumulation totals will range from 1-3″ around Madison. Snowfall totals will be higher towards Grant County, where snowfall duration will be longer.

After a break in the weather Saturday morning, another round of snow will begin Saturday mid-afternoon.

With heavy snow at times and strong wind gusts, visibility will likely be reduced in the evening and at night. Snow will come to an end early Sunday morning.

Total accumulations from both events will range from 5-7″ around Madison with higher amounts to the southeast and lesser amounts to the northwest.

Active weather will continue into next week with flurries possible Sunday, and light accumulating snow Tuesday and Wednesday.
