Ronald A. Swanson
Madison – Ronald A. Swanson, age 80, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 10, 1937 in Chicago, IL., to Clarence and Anna (Prochaska) Swanson.
Ron’s family moved to Wisconsin in 1953, and Ron graduated from Albany High School in Albany, WI. He served in the US Military, and then attended and received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Ron was a teacher of history, and a coach of several sports. He taught in Marshfield, WI., California and Stoughton, WI.
Ron married Jean M. Levake on May 26, 1973. He and his wife owned and operated several child care centers in the Madison area.
Ron is survived by his wife, Jean M. Swanson; his son, William (Jennifer) Vena Levesque; his daughter, Susan L. (Jeffrey) Hoerres; grandchildren, Alex, Michael and Katie Hoerres, and James Vena Levesque. Also surviving Ron, are his sisters, Janet (Rudy) Scharnweber of Port Washington, WI., Jeanne (Ronald) Dosedel of Randolph, MN; brother, Robert Swanson of Jensen Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service is planned for a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Mulkerin and his staff at the UW Carbone Cancer Center, and Agrace HospiceCare, for the care they provided to Ron and his family.
