Roger A. Nevel
BROOKLYN-Roger A. Nevel, age 71, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1945, in Madison, the son of James and Lena (Buol) Nevel. He graduated from Oregon High School and married Sandy Dauck on Nov. 12, 1966, in Belleville.
Roger worked as a building and grounds superintendent, most recently, for UW Waisman Center. He also worked at Barry Stables, was an auctioneer, and enjoyed judging horse shows and trading horses, where he made many lifelong friends that he remained close with. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a great provider.
Roger is survived by his wife, Sandy; son, Peter (Emily) Nevel; daughters, Kelly (Mike) Marean and Shari (John) Kaether; grandchildren, Molly and Calder Moe, Averey and Brett Marean, Darrien Ploessl and Brek and Seth Kaether; brother, Philip (Marlene) Nevel; sister, Jean (Gilbert) Zweifel; and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in-law, Gilman and Dorothy (Ketelboeter) Dauck.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, with Pastor Rebecca Ninke presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
