Rock County vandalism investigation leads to chase

A Beloit man was arrested after a vandalism complaint led to a police pursuit Wednesday morning, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the 13000 block of West Brandherm Road at 3:01 a.m. for an alleged residential vandalism complaint, possibly involving a paintball gun.

A suspect vehicle was identified in the area of West Beloit Newark Road and South County Road S.  A deputy following vehicle said the vehicle fled after an attempt to make a traffic stop.

Deputies said the vehicle was pursued at speeds of up to 80 mph until they were able to get the vehicle’s registration plate information.

Deputies said they then arrested Samuel Timmons, 23, at his home on suspicion of knowingly fleeing an officer, operating while revoked, failure to stop at a stop sign, and disorderly conduct.

Timmons was booked and released from the Rock County Jail.
