Rock Co. authorities investigating ‘complex violent death’ after elderly woman found dead
ROCK COUNTY, Wis. — The Rock County Sheriff’s Department is conducting what it calls a “complex violent death investigation” after an elderly woman was found dead in a garage in the Town of Center early Monday morning.
Deputies responded to the home on West Mineral Point Road in the Town of Center, west of Janesville, just after 5:30 a.m. Monday. The woman’s body was found by someone who went to the home to check on her. The person who found the woman’s body called 911.
When deputies got to the scene, they called for help from detectives in the Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Identification. Another person who was inside the home was taken into custody as a person of interest in the woman’s death.
The Sheriff’s office says that person, the woman who was found dead, and the person who called 911 are all relatives. Identities are not being released at this time, and the Sheriff’s Office says it does not expect to release more information on the investigation at this time.
