Robert Samuel Dietzman
STOUGHTON-Robert Samuel Dietzman, age 85, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. Bob was born on Dec. 12, 1926, in Clyde Township, the son of Frank and Mable (McCoy) Dietzman. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. After the war, he farmed in Richland County a few years. Bob married the former Ruth Carley on Jan. 26, 1952. He went to work for The Milwaukee Road Railroad, retiring after more than 33 years. Bob moved the family to Stoughton in 1956, and later bought a small farm where he and Ruth raised seven children. They felt the farm was the best place to raise their family living there for 27 years.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth; seven children, Bob (Sue), Susan (Randy) Noyes, Sandy (Gary) Goplen, Mike (Ginny), Sherry, Shelley and Scott (Karen); 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Braydon Dietzman; seven brothers and sisters; and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51, Stoughton, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, with military rites being conducted. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until the time of service on Sunday. A funeral luncheon will be held at the V.F.W. Post 328, 200 Veterans Rd., Stoughton immediately following the service.
