Robert Holt “Bob” Rovelstad
EDGERTON-Robert Holt “Bob” Rovelstad, age 80, of Edgerton, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. Robert was born in Elgin, Ill., on Sept. 20, 1931, the son of Robert and Tillie Rovelstad. Robert graduated from Elgin High School, in Elgin, Ill., in 1950 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colorado College in 1958 with a degree in Business Administration and Banking. Following his honorable discharge in the U.S. Army in 1962, Bob later joined the staff of the Continental Bank in Chicago, Ill, and worked his way up to Vice President.
Bob met the love of his life, Leta Kay Sullivan, and they were married on Nov. 1, 1985. Together they shared the love of raising and training Labrador Retrievers for field trial events. Bob was a member of the Madison Retriever Club and also a field trial judge for the American Kennel Club for many years. Bob and Leta also enjoyed collecting antique fixtures and furniture, many of which were incorporated into the three homes that they designed and built in the state of Wisconsin.
Bob is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Rovelstad; two nieces, Kathy (Ken) McNeil and Lauren Nolan, all of Geneva, Ill; and step-daughters, Lisa (Mike) Doron and Kris (Scott) Oberst, all of Elgin, Ill. Bob will also be missed by his dear friends, Sig and Steve. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leta Rovelstad; brother, Lawrence Rovelstad; and nephew, Peter Nolan.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
