Robert “Bob” Wick
OREGON-Robert Thomas Wick, age 66, of Oregon, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare after a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis and other health problems. He was born on Aug. 3, 1946, in Stoughton, the son of Norman and Lucille (Tilley) Wick. Robert attended Monona Grove High School. He and his wife, Linda Bryant, met as teenagers and married on June 18, 1966, celebrating 46 years together. Robert learned the carpet installation business as a teenager and at the age of 25, began his own business, Quality Carpet Service, which he operated for the next 37 years. Before his arthritis, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and working with his hands. In later years, he enjoyed a gambling trip now and then. Bob was a very kind and caring person and a great father, husband, and friend. He loved his children and enjoyed time spent with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Todd (Tina) Wick of Albany; daughter, Tamara (Greg Mckeown) Wick of Stoughton; grandson, Robert; step-grandchildren, Kristi and Brandon; and his special canine daughter, Missy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leroy; and sisters, Sandi and Patricia.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, with the Rev. Jason Mahnke and the Rev. Jane Follmer Zekoff presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
