Robert “Bob” Klinkner
Robert “Bob” Klinkner, age 62, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, after a short battle with leukemia. He was born on April 15, 1955, in Madison, the son of Henry and Mary (DeBeck) Klinkner. Bob was a 1973 graduate of Madison East High School. On Oct. 9, 1976, he married Donna Annen. He was employed with Schoep’s Ice Cream for over 38 years until his retirement in January of this year. Bob enjoyed cheering on the Badgers, Brewers and Packers, and traveling with his sons to various sporting events. He loved spending time with his family, especially with his granddaughters. Bob also took pride in meticulously caring for his yard.
In addition to his wife, Donna, survivors include his children, Mathew (Elizabeth), Alissa (Ben) Arpke and Andrew; his two grandchildren, Ava Arpke and Emma Stilson-Klinkner; six brothers, Conrad, David (Sherry), Patrick (Kathleen), Greg (Kim), Joe (Patti) and Jeff (Beth); three sisters, Sue (Tom) Parker, Barb Baker and Sara (Steve) Storck; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, with Fr. Joji Allam presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, and also on at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
A special thank you to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at Meriter Hospital for their exceptional care of Bob and his family. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
