Robbers ask for cigarettes, jump Madison man

Two people robbed a 22-year-old man as he was walking home early Sunday morning in downtown Madison, according to Madison police.

The robbers approached the victim around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Gorham and Livingston Streets, asked him for cigarettes, then jumped him, police said.

Police said the victim fell down, but wasn’t hurt.

The suspects took the man’s cell phone, cash and credit cards, investigators said.

The robbers left the area in a dark-colored Buick, possibly black or dark blue in color, according to Madison police.
