Madison police responded to a report of an armed robbery around 9:45 p.m. Saturday at a BP gas station, officials said.

According to a news release, a man entered the gas station in the 4200 block of Mohawk Drive just before the store closed, demanded money and presented a handgun.

The man is described as an African-American male, estimated to be between the ages of 18 and 27, wearing dark clothing, the release said.

Officials said the robber left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police reported a similar incident occurring later Saturday night and are investigating the possibility of the robberies being related, according to the release.

Madison police suspect that same man later robbed the BP gas station in the 6200 block of Schroeder Road at 11 p.m., officials said.
