A robber made off with cash from a Madison gas station Saturday morning, police said.

The Madison Police Department said a robber passed a threatening note at about 6 a.m. to a worker at the 7-Eleven on the West Beltline Highway.

Police said the robber took off with cash from the till, leaving behind a shaken 18-year-old clerk. He told police he had just started working the night shift a few weeks ago.

A passerby saw a black Jeep parked near the area around the time of the robbery.

The robber didn’t show a weapon during the crime, police said.

According to the report, the man was described as black, in his 30s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, black shoes, a black skull cap and sunglasses.
