Ringhand wins 15th Senate District
MADISON, Wis. — The Associated Press has called the 15th Senate District race for Janis Ringhand.
Ringhand and Republican Brian Fitzgerald were on the ballot Tuesday fighting for the state Senate seat in the 15th District, which along with Rock County, also covers parts of Dane, Jefferson and Walworth counties.
Ringhand survived a three-way Democratic primary in August to get to this point, but it’s her experience in the State Assembly she hoped would help her cross the finish line.
“I will continue to work across the aisle and fine the best way to move forward,” Ringhand said Tuesday night.
Republican challenger Fitzgerald’s cable and Internet ads were not what you would expect from your typical politician, highlighting the importance of job growth in an alternative way.
Both candidates agreed their first priority was creating job growth, but they stood divided on the state’s education system.Wisconsin Senate District 15
