Ricky Howard Johnson
Ricky Howard Johnson was born on Feb. 26, 1964 to Raymond and Patricia Johnson in Shell Lake, Wis. He passed away on May 16, 2014 in Madison, Wis. after a long battle with cystic fibrosis.
Rick is survived by his wife of 14 years, Lisa; step-children Bryn Goldberg and Casey Jones (Jill); sister Michelle (Ryan), grandchildren Ashley and Lexi, niece Brandi, and many friends.
After graduating from Barron Senior High, Rick moved to Madison where he studied computer programming at MATC. He then went on to work for the Madison School District IT Department.
Rick was an active member of Norway Grove Memorial Lutheran Church in DeForest and was the leader of the Habitat for Humanity team for six years.
He was an avid volleyball player, motorcycle enthusiast (especially for his Ducati), enjoyed hunting, fishing, and capturing thousands of memories on film.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
The family is grateful to the staff of UW-Hospital and Select Services Hospital.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Norway Grove Memorial Lutheran Church, 820 River Rd, DeForest, with Rev. Ron Strobel officiating. A visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Rd, DeForest. A second visitation will take place from 10:30am until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will take place at 10:30am on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Anah Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Norway Grove Memorial Lutheran Church.
