Rick A. Walz
MADISON-Rick A. Walz, age 48, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012. Through his death, he was able to give life through organ donation. He was born on May 25, 1964, in Madison, the son of Bernard and Barbara (Wanek) Walz. Rick graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1982, and attended MATC, receiving an associate’s degree in welding. He worked for Custom Metals, NES, and Bob Pertzborn (who became a good friend). Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and simply being outdoors, all with his son, Mitch. He was an avid NASACAR fan, Packers, and Brewers fan.
Rick is survived by his beloved son, Mitchell Walz of Waunakee; mother Barbara Walz of Monona; birth mother, Rosalie Eisner of Madison; sister, Sheri (Paul) Schlondrop of Menomonee Falls; three nephews, Ethan, Matthew and Owen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Walz on Aug. 18, 2011; and his grandparents.
A private service was held. Private inurnment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be made to National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, Va. 20190. A special Thank You to the doctors, nurses and staff at Meriter Park Hospital for all their exceptional care.
