Richard Maly, age 60, passed away at his home on Friday, May 30, 2014. Richard was born on December 7, 1953 to Elmer and Teresa Maly. He worked for the University of Wisconsin for over 31 years and currently was employed at Kayser Ford shuttling cars. Richard enjoyed watching Drag racing, NASCAR racing and especially loved any car auction he could find. He looked forward to Sunday’s watching racing along with any UW-Madison sporting event with both his children Michael and Michele.
Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ginny) Maly, and his two children Michael Maly of DeForest and Michele of Madison; brother, Kenneth of Florida; brother-in-law, John (Jeanne) Littel of Green Bay; niece, nephew Kyra and Kristopher and his two beloved dogs Lucky and Elvis. He is preceded in death by his maternal parents, Elmer and Teresa Maly, his brother, Donald and sister, Mary, along with his mother-in-law, Dorothy Littel.
Richard believed in organ donation and his wishes were granted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave, Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014, with Monsignor Charles Schluter presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Friday. Per Richard’s request he will be cremated.
The family would like to thank the First Response Emergency Medical team and the Madison Police Department for their care and consideration that was given to the family, and a special thank you to Mary Lou Hyatt for her compassion, kindness, and friendship. Memorials can be made to the Dane County Humane Society in Richard’s name.
