MADISON, Wis. — Richard Gillis, age 82, passed away after a brief illness on April 1, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born in March of 1935, the son of Albert A. and Mamie (Baerwolf) Gillis. He worked many jobs during his lifetime. Richard was an avid bicycle rider, walker, gardener and lover of dogs. He loved the Brewers and the Packers.
He is survived by his siblings Joanne Roneid of Stoughton, Marjorie Gillis of Madison, Fannie (Keith) Kvalheim of Stoughton, Frances (Larry) Matuszeske of McFarland, Frankie Gillis of Madison, Barbara Gillis of Madison, and Charles (Kathy) Gillis of Minnesota/ Florida; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Albert; and brother-in-law, Arnold Roneid.
A private service will be held.
