Richard “Andy” Garwell, age 59 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his residence.
Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Private family services will be held.
Andy was born March 20, 1955 in Monroe, Wisconsin, the son of Richard (Butch) and Eva Mae (Surrell) Garwell. He grew up in South Wayne, Wisconsin and attended schools there. He enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. In June of 1980 he married Joyce Novak in Monroe, Wisconsin. He had worked at Iroquois Iron Foundry in Browntown, Wisconsin and then went to work for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1986 and retired in 2010 from Oxford Federal Prison. Andy was a Green Bay Packer fan; enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and being outdoors; was an avid reader; loved spending time with friends and family; and was an avid gunsmith and locksmith.
Andy is survived by his wife, Joyce; a brother, Terry (Linda) Garwell of Monticello, Wisconsin; sisters, Donna (Kurt) Wyss and Brenda (Scott) Grossen of Browntown, Wisconsin and Denise Lambert and Margaret (David) Wilson of Argyle, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and uncles, Ralph Garwell and Nate Garwell.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Agrace Hospice.
