Richard D. Mihlsimmer
DeForest-Richard D. “Dick” Mihlsimmer, age 75, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014.
He was born to Eugene and Jean Howard on May 12, 1939 in Milwaukee. He worked for 30 years as a driver/salesman for Roadway Express. He raced sportsman stock-cars in southeast Wisconsin in the early 60’s. He loved watching NASCAR races, boating and enjoyed travel as well as watching sports and spending time with family and friends. He married Helen Gohs on May 4, 1963 and they raised two children; Michael and Deborah.
He is survived by Helen, his wife of 51 years; his son Michael Mihlsimmer, and daughter Deborah (Jeff) Armstrong; granddaughters Amanda (Pat Stanton) Armstrong, Samantha (James) Armstrong-Koehler; great-grandsons Hunter Armstrong and Hayden Koehler. He is further survived by his siblings Susan (Mark) Hawkinson, and Donald (Julie) Mihlsimmer and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of Meriter Cardiac, ICU, and Oncology Departments as well as Dr. Ansani. Memorials may be made in Richards name to Victory Junction Gang Camp (www.victoryjunction.org/).
Funeral services will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road in Windsor at a date yet to be determined.
