Richard Allen Vollbrecht
MONONA- Richard Allen Vollbrecht, age 66, of Monona, passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at home. He was born on Nov. 29, 1945, in Milwaukee, the son of Ervin and Dolores Vollbrecht. Richard married Susan Thompson on Nov. 16, 1991, in Madison. He was a volunteer for the Monona Fire Department and an EMT. Richard served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He also served on the Monona Festival Committee and Friends of Monona Senior Center. Richard was a member of the MidWest Severe Storm Tracking/Response Center and Wisconsin Ares/Races.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Vollbrecht; son, David Livingston (Katy); daughter, Jennifer Thompson; granddaughters, Myla Grace and Piper Joy Livingston; and sister, Mary Ellen Vollbrecht (Steve Hiniker) and daughter, Dana. He is further survived by other family members. Richard was preceded in death by a daughter, Mylissa Livingston.
Funeral services will be held at BETHANY EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 301 Riverside Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, with the Rev. David Carlson presiding. Visitation will be held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug.7, 2012, and also from 10 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Bethany Evangelical Free Church.
