Rex B. Brown
Rex B. Brown, 62, of Livingston, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at his home. Memorial services will be 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Livingston United Methodist Church. Pastor Ty Hines will officiate. Immediately following the service, there will be a Celebration of Life at Rebel’s Northern Exposure in Livingston. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Rex was born on August 16, 1951 in Platteville. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1969. He was united in marriage to Linda Ogden on November 15, 1974 in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Rex worked at Richland-Grant Telephone Co-Op in Blue River until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed golf, racket ball, scuba diving, flying, and his huge garden; from which he loved to share the produce with others. He is survived by his wife, Linda; mother, Dorothy Place; siblings, Barb (Tom) Steckelberg; Larry (Mary) Brown; Blanch Smith (Dale Huinker); and Bruce (Mary) Place; brother-in-law, Doug Eck; nieces and nephews, Todd (Lisa) Steckelberg; Beth Steckelberg; Holly (Gary) Dinga; Chad Smith; Justin Huinker; Curt Eck; Josh Eck; Julie Place; Michael Place; and Amy Place. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Neil and Gladys Craven; step-father, Kenny Place; sister, Cindy Eck; nephew, Neil Brown; and brother-in-law, Larry Smith.
