Retired Fort Atkinson priest accused of sexually assaulting boy for years, report says
FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — A retired former Fort Atkinson priest was arrested in connection with at child sexual assault investigation, according to a newspaper report.
William A. Nolan, 64, was arrested Tuesday by Fort Atkinson police on suspicion of sexually assaulting a boy for five years, beginning when the boy was 12 years old, the Jefferson Daily Union reported.
Fort Atkinson police plan to hold a news conference at 3:30 p.m. Thursday regarding “criminal charges related to several incidents of past sexual contact with a juvenile,” though police didn’t name the suspect in the release.
Nolan was a priest at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church from 2002 to 2007, the Daily Union reported. He’s a retired priest in residence at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Madison.
Nolan is expected to make a court appearance Thursday afternoon.
