Report: Bakhtiari to make season debut for Packers on Sunday
GREEN BAY, Wis. — After spending the entire preseason on the shelf, Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari is set to return to the field on Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport.
A season debut: #Packers LT David Bakhtiari, who boarded the bus with teammates wearing a shirt with his face on it, is expected to play on Sunday. A huge lift for the GB offense.

Bakhtiari tore his ACL in December of 2020 and was on the injured reserve until November of last year. He was activated from the IR at the end of the Packers’ season, but only made a brief appearance in the team’s final regular season game against Detroit and didn’t appear in Green Bay’s playoff loss to San Francisco.
Bakhtiari began this season’s training camp on the physically unable to perform list but was taken off the list in August. He did not appear in any of the Packers’ preseason games and has been limited in practice.
Selected in the fourth round of the 2014 Draft, Bakhtiari is a three-time Pro Bowler and was named first-team All-Pro twice. His status had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday’s contest with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bakhtiari returns to a Packers team hampered by injuries. Wide receiver Sammy Watkins was placed on the IR Saturday, meaning he will miss at least the next four games. Receivers Randall Cobb and Christian Watson, and tight end Marcedes Lewis are all listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.
