Relive Shakespeare through Young Shakespeare Players
See uncut work of Shakespeare, Dickens and Shaw
Founded in 1980 by Richard DiPrima, Young Shakespeare Players performs the uncut work of Shakespeare and Shaw as well as adaptations of Dickens’ novels with young people ages 7 to 18.
DiPrima–who’s the co-artistic director along with his wife, Anne–makes the final call on show choices. He ensures that the group performs a variety of tragedies, romances, comedies and historic pieces, with the majority of the works being Shakespeare. Over the past 37 years, DiPrima has made audiotapes and CDs that explain every line of the Shakespeare plays so that young people can perform with a better understanding of the Bard’s language.
