Regents panel OKs $32.6 million more for building projects
MADISON, Wis. — A University of Wisconsin System regents committee has approved spending $32.6 million to cover cost overruns on two UW-Madison construction projects.
According to documents submitted to the regents’ Capital Planning and Budget Committee, remodeling Babcock Hall will cost nearly $27 million more than planned and constructing a new meat science lab will cost $7 million more than budgeted.
The extra money will come from borrowing, gifts and cash.
The committee approved the request Thursday. The full Board of Regents is expected to sign off on Friday
