Referendum to build a new school in Wisconsin Dells fails by 5 votes
Voters rejected 30 million dollar referendum
WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — The Wisconsin Dells school board will have to figure out what to do next after a proposal to build a new high school failed Tuesday night.
Voters rejected the plan by a razor-thin margin Tuesday, voting down the plan by 5 votes. 1,388 voters were against the plan, wihile 1,383 were for it.
The school district asked voters to approve 30 million dollars to build a new high school and remodel the current high school into a middle school.
It’s unclear whether the school board will ask for a recount following the tight race.
