The 15th annual Reedsburg Touched Twice Clinic provided all the essentials to get families ready for the new school year.

The name represents helping the community in multiple ways. First, it helps by providing families with free goods, including school supplies, clothing, haircuts and food. Second, it helps by building connections. At the end of the clinic, families are able to connect with a local church that can serve as a resource throughout the year.

“It’s just neighbors helping neighbors,” organizer Tristin Rothwell said.

Rothwell said it’s also about creating relationships within the community.

“So that way, when we see each other in the grocery store, it’s like ‘Hey, I remember you,'” Rothwell said. “It’s more of a relational event rather than just a giveaway.”

Summer Stevens brought her family to the clinic to help cut the cost of back-to-school shopping.

“It definitely stretches my dollar,” Stevens said. “With four kids and one stepkid, it’s a lot of supplies.”

She said it is overall a positive event and thinks there should be more like it.

“There’s a lot to choose from. It’s easy to go through. There’s usually familiar faces,” Stevens said.
