Red Barn Company Store transforms into Waunakee’s winter wonderland
More than 1,000 ornaments are available at the store during the holiday season.

Since opening in 2013, Red Barn Company Store has been a destination for Christmas shoppers. Owner Vicky Marsala started the shop as a part-time enterprise alongside her real estate work but eventually decided to put all her efforts into the shop.
Red Barn Company Store originally relied more heavily on vintage items, but over the years it has become a one-stop gift shop in Waunakee. In addition to brands like Pandora and Vera Bradley, the store offers home decor, dishware, candles, clothing and accessories.
“I just choose all the things I love, and I’m fortunate that my guests love it too, and I also take suggestions from the staff at the store and definitely from my regulars,” Marsala says.
She says each winter the store transforms into a winter wonderland. Find table decor, more than 1,000 Christmas ornaments, holiday florals and Christmas-themed decorations.
In addition to stocking gifts, Marsala has a wishlist book at the store. Customers can come in and write down what they’d like this season so their loved ones can come in and find something they know they’ll like.
With COVID-19, Red Barn Company Store has expanded online shopping, phone ordering and curbside pickup, but the store is now open to the public for walk-in perusing. Marsala says the store is 2,500 square feet and has three entrances, giving customers more room to explore. As the proprietor of a small, locally owned store, Marsala says she wants to do everything she can to make people feel comfortable stopping in and shopping there.
“We’re very thankful for all of the support of the community,” Marsala says. “It’s just been wonderful because a lot of our regulars, when they come in that’s the first thing they ask about — ‘I’m so glad you’re still here, and are you guys doing OK?’”
