Recount called for Wisconsin Dells referendum vote
Decision came down to difference of 5 votes, officials say
WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — A recount has been requested after Tuesday night’s vote against spending $30 million for a new Wisconsin Dells high school was very close.
The decision came down to a difference of five votes, officials said.
“We’ve utilized all the stop-gap measures at this point like modular classrooms, teachers sharing classrooms, moving eighth grade to the high school where we had a little bit of space and now that’s overcrowded. We’ve done all those necessary stop-gap measures and it’s time to move forward,” School District of Wisconsin Dells District Administrator Terrance Slack said.
Slack said because the margin was close, they know they’re on the right track and just have to tweak the plan a bit.
