Recording artist films music video to raise money for murdered, missing indigenous women
MADISON, Wis. — An award-winning indigenous recording artist spent Tuesday shooting a music video in Madison.
The shoot was for Kelly Jackson’s hit song Don’t Speak. Proceeds raised from the video will benefit the IMPACT CHANGE Initiative to bring awareness and provide fundraising for murdered and missing indigenous women.
“Ultimately this song is about not being alone, that there is a tremendous amount of people who have suffered from at the hand of violence, and so it’s really a tribute to standing together and so the end of the song is you’re not alone and so we’ll bring you in together,” Jackson said.
The song is from Jackson’s 2015 album titled Renditions of the Soul. The video is being funded through her Spirit of a Women production company specifically for the campaign.
