Randall John Weber, age 55, lifelong resident of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his home due to complications of Lyme Disease. He was born August 12, 1959 in Madison, the son of Clinton and Cecelia (Koehn) Weber. Randy graduated from Madison East High School in 1977, received his B.S. Degree from UW Madison in 1984, and his Master’s Degree in Education in 1986. He served in the U.S. Army from 1979-1981, as a Green Beret Medic in the Special Forces. Randy successfully ran his business, Weber Installation, for over 20 years, and owned several rental properties in Madison.

Randy was an outdoor enthusiast who like to rough it and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, kayaking and was a master of disc golf. He had a zest for life, was charismatic and compassionate, and was a champion of the underdog. He was a whiz at crossword puzzles, an avid reader and student of history and had a quick, intelligent wit and sense of humor.

Randy is survived by two children, Luke and Kathryne Weber of Madison; a brother, Nick (Sue) Weber of Sun Prairie; two sisters, Nan (Mike) Rortvedt of DeForest, Cindy (Randy) Zink of Colorado; nieces and nephews, Monica (Dan) Dillenbeck, Madison, Steve Weber, Colorado, Charlie (Jaime) Rortvedt and their children, Addison and Andrew of Deerfield, Patrick Rortvedt (Sarah Roisman) of Colorado, Jen (Justin) Harbort of Rio, Chelsea (Leeland) Clark of Wyoming, and Ryan, Dustin and William Zink of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Matthew; and his good fishing buddy, Jim Oakey.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue. A fund is being established to benefit wildlife conservation in celebration of Randy’s love of the outdoors.
