ANTIGO/MILWAUKEE/CROSS PLAINS—Ramona R. Eswein age 89 formerly of Antigo and Milwaukee died on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at her home in Cross Plains. She was born on January 17, 1923 in Elkader, IA to William and Nellie (Spichalsky) Barske. Ramona was a graduate of Antigo High School. She received her LPN certification through nurses training at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Ramona was married to Arnold Riley on September 8, 1942 in St Louis. She and Arnold worked at Ford’s Convalescent Home in Rhinelander. They later moved to Tennessee and started their own convalescent home. They returned to Milwaukee where she worked as a private duty nurse. She was later married to Robert Eswein on July 17, 1970 in Milwaukee. Ramona provided adult foster care in her home in Antigo. She was an original member of what became the Pathfinders and became a master guide. Ramona was a cradle roll leader at Milwaukee Central Church where she was a charter member. She also taught cradle roll at Camp Meeting where she liked to express herself and her love for Jesus in her artwork. Her joy was teaching others her skills and giving her crafts as treasures.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kerry (Dan) Riley-Weber of Antigo and Pam (Aaron) King of Cross Plains; one son, Terry “Kim” Riley of Rhinelander; eight grandchildren, Rachel R. (Bryon A.) Riley-Hall of Antigo, Jehoia T. Riley of Uniondale TN, Terry M. Schmidt of Houston TX, Treeg A. (Katie) Schmidt of Liberty Center IN, Tiffany L. Schmidt-Gerber of Ossian IN, Jason M. Schmidt of Uniondale TN, Amber Rose King and Courtney K. H. King, both of Cross Plains; nine great grandchildren, Sheldon M. Riley, Darren M. Schmidt, Zekeal L. Gerber, Zayden J. Gerber, Ellie D. Gerber, Hunter M. Schmidt, Odessy M. Schmidt, Sierra A. Schmidt, Madison “Maddie” Nicole Turner; one sister, Lola Luttig of Richland Center; one brother, Robert (Theresa) Barske of Antigo; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 1980; a daughter, Gail Riley; a brother, William.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at MADISON EAST SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, Madison, with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Titus Naftanaila will officiate.

Interment will be in Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee.
