Ramon Sneath

Ramon Sneath

Ramon V. Sneath, 75, of Ithaca died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born December 9, 1936 the son of Buren and Helen (Ekleberry) Sneath. He graduated from Richland Center High School in 1954. Ramon farmed and worked for a large scale hog farm until his health forced him to retire. He also was a fence builder and had the patience to mow cemeteries. Ramon enjoyed reading, television, movies, and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers Fan. Ramon spent much of his free time with his lifelong friend Maynard L. Weeden and became an uncle to his 10 children, multiple grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. In his later years, Ramon split his time between being a bench greeter with Maynard at the local Wal-Mart and traveling to St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison for dialysis. Throughout his multiple trips to Madison, Ray had the privilege of meeting many wonderful volunteer drivers, but none more special than his great friend Joyce (Cecil) Williams. The last years of his life were spent living with his ‘niece’ in rural Ithaca where he became a major part of the Weeden family.

Ray is survived by aunts: June (Wilbur) Johnston of Beloit Pat Ekleberry of Zachow, Betty Peckham of Richland Center, Wanda Vaught of Virginia, “Niece” Betsy (Vince) Wiedenfeld, their children Nicole Meixelsperger, Heather (Kyle) Dickey, Dakota, McKenzie and Nicholas Wiedenfeld and housemates Lynn and Mark, other relatives, and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Buren and Helen and special friend Maynard Weeden.
