Ralph J. Paynter
Ralph J. Paynter, age 81, of Linden, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at CrestRidge Assisted Living. Ralph was born on October 4, 1930 in Waldwick to Roy and Antoinette (Holzman) Paynter. He married the former Linda Parish of Linden on March 23, 1957 and they resided in Linden. Ralph worked at John Deere Works Dubuque for 33 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Dodgeville United Methodist Church and the Linden American Legion Post #493. Ralph enjoyed being outdoors, whether fishing, turkey hunting, gardening or doing yard work with his John Deere mower. His greatest joy came from time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda on September 20, 2010; a sister, Marilyn (Don) Murphy and a brother-in-law, Melvin Rickard.
Ralph is survived by four children, Debora (Tim) Sonnenburg of Antioch, IL; Doug Paynter of Dodgeville; Randy Paynter of Linden and Scott (Lisa) Paynter of Chaska, MN; five grandchildren, Kyle Sonnenburg and Tyler, Kellen, Natalie and Jonathan Paynter; two great granddaughters, Braelyn and Jordence Rothamer; two brothers, his twin brother, Raymond (Carol) of Mineral Point and Roger of Mineral Point; a sister-in-law, Marian Rickard of Dodgeville as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville with Pastor Rom A. Pegram officiating. Burial will be in the Linden Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday after 10:00 A.M.
