Priest struck, killed while cycling
Death announced at Thursday service
TOWN OF TAYCHEEDAH, Wis. — A Catholic priest was struck and killed while riding his bike in Fond du Lac County.
The Rev. Victor Capriolo, 67, was biking on the Prairie Trail about 8 p.m. Wednesday and was crossing the Highway 151 bypass when he was hit, according to sheriff’s officials. The 67-year-old priest died at the scene.
Authorities say a 74-year-old woman was driving the vehicle that struck Capriolo. His death was announced during a service at Holy Family Church Thursday morning.
The Reporter says Capriolo also served at parishes in Milwaukee, Grafton, Whitefish Bay and Wauwatosa.
