Poynette man faces 15 years in prison for child porn charge

A 28-year-old Poynette man was sentenced Tuesday for receiving child pornography, according to a release.

Robert Tlusty was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release, officials said. He pleaded guilty Sept. 5 to receiving child pornography.
The investigation began on Feb. 27 when an FBI undercover agent downloaded five videos of child pornography from Tlusty using a file-sharing network, according to the release. In a separate undercover investigation, a Department of Justice undercover agent also downloaded a video of child pornography from the defendant using a file-sharing network on March 2.

Tlusty’s computer was seized during the execution of a search warrant; forensic analysis was performed, which revealed other images and videos of child pornography, according to the release.

In sentencing Tlusty, the court considered the type of images he sought out and received, his distribution of images through file-sharing and the physical molestation by the defendant of minors discovered during the investigation, officials said.
