Power outage causing school delays
Dodgeville, Barneveld delaying school start two hours
DODGEVILLE, Wis. — Students in Dodgeville and Barneveld will come to school two hours later than normal due to a power outage in the area.
Iowa County emergency management said the outage in the Alliant Energy service area affected Ridgeway as well.
Alliant Energy reports more than 5,000 customers were without power in the southern Wisconsin district that encompasses those communities.
Alliant said a transmission line went down and caused the problem.
Iowa County Emergency Management director Keith Hulbert said power was restored to Dodgeville around 7 a.m. and power was restored to Barneveld and Ridgeway around 7:20 a.m.
