Possibly nude burglar flees when victim finds him in bedroom, police say
MADISON, Wis. — Early Tuesday morning, police received a phone call from a frightened college student who reported a stranger had entered her bedroom after entering the apartment through a roommate’s window, according to a news release.
Madison police said the victim’s housemate, whose window was likely used to enter the apartment, was not home at the time. Police cleared the building in the 300 block of North Bassett Street, which contains several apartment units, and they did not find a suspect.
When the victim screamed upon realizing someone was in her room, the intruder fled, according to the report.
The victim described the man as between 6 feet and 6 feet, 3 inches tall with a bald or shaved head, and he appeared to either be a tanned white man or an African-American man with a lighter complexion. He had an athletic build and appeared to be naked or possibly wearing a skin-tight suit.
Detectives are looking into whether there is any connection to another recent burglary in which the victim gave a similar description of the perpetrator.
