Possible home explosion in rural Jefferson County
No one home at time of fire
WATERLOO TOWNSHIP, Wis. — Seven fire departments were involved in fighting a fire that followed a possible house explosion in Waterloo Township Monday.
Fire crews were called to a home on Manske Road at 12:26 p.m. for a report of an explosion.
A neighbor who reported the fire said an explosion could be heard and felt. Some of the debris from the house ended up in the neighbor’s yard.
Firefighters have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire or if there was an explosion.
A Lake Mills deputy fire chief told WISC-TV the home was fully engulfed by fire when crews arrived, and it took them at least a half hour to get the blaze under control.
A family lives in the home, but no one was at home at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
