Police: Would-be robber flees Janesville gas station empty-handed

A woman who attempted to rob a Janesville gas station early Thursday left without any cash, police said.

The Janesville Police Department said officers responded at 3:37 a.m. to a report of an attempted robbery at the Stop-N-Go gas station at 3515 E. Milwaukee St.

The clerk told police that a woman entered the store and demanded money. The woman waited a short period of time, then fled the store, running north toward Mt. Zion Avenue. The would-be robber fled before she got any money from the store.

Police said no weapon was displayed and nobody was injured.

The woman was described as white, between 5 feet, 2 inches and 5 feet, 4 inches tall with a fair complexion. She was wearing a white or gray hooded sweatshirt with navy blue sleeves and a hood. She was also wearing tennis shoes and gray sweatpants possibly over light blue pajama pants.
