Police: Two arrested after attack, pistol-whipping
Attack was part of ongoing dispute
MADISON, Wis. — An ongoing dispute between two people led to a beating and two arrests on Madison’s southwest side Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The victim told police he walking to his residence around 3 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up to him in the 6500 block of Tottenham Road and a group of people got out and started attacking him. The victim was pistol whipped during the attack.
Police said when they arrived one of the men tripped while fleeing the scene, causing a handgun to fall out from his waistband area. Another man was taken into custody near the scene.
J.B. Richmond, 18, of Madison, was arrested on suspicion of substantial battery and carrying a concealed weapon. Christopher Somersett, 17, of Madison, was arrested on suspicion of party to the crime of substantial battery.
