Police: Teens battered, robbed during drug deal

Two teenagers were attacked and robbed during a drug deal on Madison’s east side Friday night, police said.

Madison police said a 17-year-old Madison boy and a 16-year-old Cottage Grove boy were in a parking lot in the 700 block of Cottage Grove Road at 7 p.m. to buy drugs.

The boys had arranged to meet someone with to purchase pot, but instead of selling them drugs, the dealer punched one of the boys in the face several times and elbowed the other in the head.

Police said a second robber appeared who claimed to have a gun.

The first attacker took one boy’s wallet and cellphone, according to the report.

Police said the teens were not seriously hurt.
