Police: Suspects arrested after stealing eyeglasses frames from store

Frames had retail value of $730

Madison police said that two men who stole some designer frames from a store were arrested shortly after.

An employee at Eyemart Express on Odana Road called police about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday to report that two men had just stolen seven pairs of designer frames, which had a retail value of about $730, from his store.

The employee provided good descriptions, and a Madison police officer was able to stop two men who matched the descriptions as they walked away from the store.

Police said Clyde “Cody” A. Singleton, 43, of Madison, was arrested on a charge of retail theft.

Police said Tavon J. Meyers, 20, of Fitchburg, was arrested on a charge of party to a crime of retail theft and on a probation violation.

The designer frames were recovered, police said.
