Police: Shoplifter was filling order for drug trade
Woman also had drug paraphernalia
MADISON, Wis. — A shoplifter arrested Thursday had a shopping list for specific merchandise she was going to trade for drugs and money, according to Madison police.
Officers were called to Macy’s at 702 N. Midvale Blvd. at 2:21 p.m. by a loss prevention officer who stopped the woman after police said she left the store with seven Ralph Lauren Polo shirts, valued at a total of $339.
Police said Audra E. Haase, 28, of Madison, told officers she had a heroin and cocaine habit. Investigators said she also had drug paraphernalia, including crack pipes and hypodermic needles, in her purse.
Haase was arrested on suspicion of retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.
