Police seek identity of purse thief from surveillance photos

A man used a stolen credit card to buy a prepaid Visa card in Rock County in late January, police said.

The Janesville Police Department released two surveillance photos Monday related to a theft and fraud case in Milton and Janesville on Jan. 30.

According to the release, a man broke into a vehicle in Milton sometime between 2:15 and 3 p.m. by smashing the window. A purse was stolen from inside.

A credit card that was in the purse was used at Walgreens on Kettering Street in Janesville to purchase a $300 prepaid Visa a short time later, police said.
