Police: Robbers who killed clerk wore green masks

Waukesha police are investigating a fatal overnight shooting at a gas station.

Officers were called to the Citgo station on a report of an armed robbery. Detectives have placed numerous evidence markers outside the gas station where one person was fatally shot.

Authorities said the clerk at the station was shot late Tuesday night when two suspects tried to rob the business. Saeed Sharwani, 65, of Brookfield, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Surveillance video shows the two suspects enter the gas station wearing green Halloween masks before one of the suspects produced a gun.

According to a release from Waukesha police, one suspect was described as a black man with a medium build, wearing a tan jacket with a hood. His face was covered with a green Halloween mask and he was wearing checkered pajama-type pants, a blue surgical glove on one hand, a black glove on the other hand and bright white tennis shoes. He had a black semi-automatic handgun.

The other suspect was described as a man of unknown race, tall with a thin build. His face was covered with a green Halloween mask and he was wearing mostly black clothing. He entered the store behind the pajama-clad suspect and remained in the background.

Police asked anyone who can help identify the suspects in the case to call the Waukesha department at 262-524-3926. Police advised that anyone who sees the suspects should not approach them, as they are believed to be armed and dangerous.
