Police: Robber steals cash, found with drugs, gun
Police said robbery happened on east side Thursday
MADISON, Wis. — A 46-year-old man faces multiple charges after an incident in which police said he robbed another man at gunpoint.
Police said the robber met the victim near the 1100 block of South Thompson Drive around 1:30 p.m. Thursday before robbing the 50-year-old Madison man of cash at gunpoint.
Police said the suspect, later identified as Howard Lovelady, of Chicago, fled the area in a vehicle and was eventually stopped by the Wisconsin State Patrol in Columbia County. A gun and drugs were found in the vehicle, police said.
Lovelady faces charges of armed robbery, possession of cocaine and felon in possession of a firearm, police said.
A mugshot for Lovelady was not immediately available Thursday night.
